How we work out the cost
Each pen holds four weekly doses. The standard schedule starts on the lowest dose and steps up one dose every four weeks until you reach your target, so the calculator counts one pen at each step, then your target dose for the remaining pens.
Some providers charge less per pen if you sign up for a plan with a minimum term, such as 3, 6 or 12 months. For those, we use the cheapest plan you could finish within your course: up to a 3-month plan for 12 weeks, a 6-month plan for 24 weeks and a 12-month plan for a year. If the first payment is lower, we include that too. Check what happens if you need to stop early before you sign up.
Real treatment doesn't always follow the standard schedule. Your prescriber may hold you on a dose for longer, and some people stay on a lower dose because it works. Use the total as a guide, then ask your chosen provider for a quote. Read more about dose schedules.

How much does a year of Mounjaro cost in Northern Ireland?
Stepping up to 10 mg and staying there, a year of Mounjaro costs about £3,420 to £3,847 from the providers we list with prices for every dose. It costs less if you stay on a lower dose, and more at 12.5 mg or 15 mg. Use the calculator to try your own dose.
Why does the calculator count 13 pens in a year?
Each Mounjaro or Wegovy pen holds four weekly doses, so one pen lasts four weeks. A year is 52 weeks, which is 13 pens. Working in 4-week pens, rather than calendar months, gives a more accurate yearly total.
Does the total include consultation and delivery fees?
The total adds up each provider’s pen prices. Where a provider charges a prescription fee or a first consultation fee on top, we add those too. Some providers include delivery in the price and others charge for it separately, so check each provider’s page for what is included.
Is it cheaper to sign up for a longer plan?
Often, yes. Some providers charge less per pen on a 3, 6 or 12-month plan than if you pay month by month with no minimum term. The calculator uses the cheapest plan you could finish within the course you pick. Before you commit, ask what happens if you need to stop early, for example because of side effects.
Will I definitely step up every four weeks?
Not always. Your prescriber may keep you on a dose for longer if it is working, or if side effects need time to settle. The calculator assumes the standard schedule, so treat the total as a guide rather than a quote.
